Position: Product Manager for BizSummits
About the Company.
BizSummits is a fast-growing training company that organizes groups of business executives who meet monthly to exchange best practices, conferences and reports (i.e. CFO Summit, CIO Summit, etc). BizSummits offers monthly teleconference meetings, in-person leadership summits, and best practices reports to its members who pay annual dues. It is majority owned by VC South, a boutique private equity company.
Job Description.
The Product Manager has responsibility for all product revenue from planning to marketing implementation. These activities include conducting competitive intelligence, developing strategic marketing plans, developing new products, and executing tactical marketing plans. The Product Manager provides the marketing leadership to position the company at the forefront of the industry. This is a hands-on position in a relatively new company where the Product Manager is expected to work in every phase and facet of the organization. The Product Manager is the driving catalyst that needs to cause things to happen as opposed to waiting for them to happen.
Responsibilities.
Develop a strategic marketing plan which drives strong revenue and profit.
Manage the marketing and service staff for optimum productivity and profit.
Oversee projects to support the rapid growth of the business.
Lead improvements in products to drive client retention and satisfaction.
Spearhead product development in profitable existing and new areas.
Determine and develop key partner and alliance relationships.
Accountable to the VC South management team for revenue and margins.
Requirements.
Strong experience in strategic marketing planning and execution.
Track record managing and motivating staff (virtual environment a plus).
Bachelors degree required, advanced degree a plus.
Product development experience taking new products from concept to launch.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
(Opt. but preferred) Experience in the seminar, training, or conference industry.
(Opt. but preferred) P&L and financial oversight experience.
Compensation.
Base salary, stock plan, monthly bonus as a percent of product sales, full medical and benefits.
