BizSummits is a fast-growing training company that organizes groups of business executives who meet monthly to exchange best practices, conferences and reports (i.e. CFO Summit, CIO Summit, etc). BizSummits offers monthly teleconference meetings, in-person leadership summits, and best practices reports to its members who pay annual dues. It is majority owned by VC South, a boutique private equity company. Job Description. The President leads all aspects of the business from strategic planning to implementation. These activities include conducting competitive intelligence, developing strategic marketing plans, developing new products, and executing tactical marketing plans. The President provides the leadership to position the company at the forefront of the industry. This is a hands-on position in a relatively new company where the President is expected to work in every phase and facet of the organization. The President is the driving catalyst that needs to cause things to happen as opposed to waiting for them to happen. Responsibilities. Develop a strategic plan which drives strong revenue and profits. Manage the staff for optimum productivity, customer service and sales. Oversee projects to support the rapid growth of the business. Lead improvements in products, client retention and satisfaction. Spearhead product development in profitable existing and new areas. Determine and develop key partner and alliance relationships. Accountable to the VC South management team for revenue and margins. Requirements. Strong experience in strategic planning and execution. Track record managing and motivating staff (virtual environment a plus). Bachelors degree required, advanced degree a plus. Product development experience taking new products from concept to launch. Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have done financially well in the past with an adequate cushion. (Opt. but preferred) Experience in the seminar, training, or conference industry. (Opt. but preferred) P&L and financial oversight experience. Compensation. Unlike the staff jobs underneath the President which are mostly salaried, VC South Company Presidents are not paid a base but rather a percent of total company revenue plus stock in the company. As a result, there is far more potential upside than usual but also more upfront risk because our Presidents are not salaried but rather a true owner of the company with all the commensurate risks and rewards.
